Comfy updates API with Hunyanya nodes for 3D workflows
Comfy released an API update that adds Hunyanya nodes focused on 3D asset preparation and workflow automation in creative pipelines.
New mesh and texturing tools
The update introduces dedicated nodes for retopology, UV layout, and mesh decomposition intended to simplify the pretexturing and modeling stages.
- Smart retopology for higher-detail meshes: 211 credits.
- UV unwrapping node to prepare assets for texturing: 42 credits.
- Mesh decomposition to split geometry into parts: 127 credits.
Workflows and integrations
Alongside nodes, the release adds workflows for generating variations and upscaling using Grok Imagine, and a virtual fitting feature powered by Seedream 4.5.
Authors can create storyboard-style animations using integrations with Google and Kling, and a simplified interface mode mirrors the streamlined experience available in Comfy Cloud.
Local experimentation and model support
For local use, the team recommends testing relighting workflows on a worker with LoRA applied to Qwen 2509, or experimenting with video generation via LTXV 2.3.
Beta limitations
The feature remains in beta: the user interface is reported as unintuitive, control range is limited, and the full list of available models does not always appear in options.
Users also note intermittent functional gaps and an ongoing need for additional controls; the release provides a mode toggle in the bottom-left corner to switch interfaces quickly.
