ElevenLabs releases Music V2 music-generation model
ElevenLabs introduced Music V2, an upgraded music-generation model focused on more detailed instrument, vocal and arrangement synthesis.
Model capabilities
Music V2 improves instrument timbre rendering, supports vocals in multiple languages, and refines arrangements across a wide range of genres.
The model can transition between genres within a single composition, for example shifting from opera to metal during a track without compromising coherence.
Using an audio inpainting workflow, creators may substitute lyrics or individual instruments while preserving the remaining elements of the composition.
Users can supply audio references to develop and evolve their material, though content derived from others may be subject to moderation and removal.
Distribution and pricing
Music V2 is already integrated into the recently launched ElevenMusic streaming service and the audio marketplace for ElevenCreative.
ElevenLabs plans to add Music V2 access to its API at a later date, with the company indicating phased availability for developers.
The firm lowered generation prices on its platforms: ElevenCreative usage is reduced by 40%, while ElevenAPI fees are cut by 50%.
On the company’s site, the cost to generate one minute of audio is 900 credits, and registered users receive 10,000 credits monthly at no charge.
Workflow implications
Music V2’s combination of inpainting and reference-driven generation may accelerate iterative production and rapid prototyping for composers and sound designers.
By isolating editable segments, the model aims to reduce the need for full-track regeneration when refining specific vocal or instrumental parts.
