ByteDance unveils SeedDance 2.5 video generation model
ByteDance announced SeedDance 2.5, a video-generation model that extends clip duration, increases resolution, and supports broader input options for creators.
Key changes in SeedDance 2.5
The new release introduces native 4K generation, although the company says 4K output will also be made available for SeedDance 2.0 users.
- Up to 30 seconds of generated video instead of the previous 15-second limit.
- Support for attaching up to 50 reference files to guide generation and preserve stylistic features.
- Ability to ingest untextured white 3D models, which the system will place and texture inside generated scenes.
Inputs and contextual continuity
As before, creators can provide short videos, photographs, and voice recordings, all of which the model incorporates into context to retain identifiable characteristics.
Pricing and rights management
SeedDance 2 in FullHD previously cost $0.1512 per second, making a 30 second clip cost almost $5, and pricing for 2.5 is expected to be commercially oriented.
Concurrently ByteDance launches a rights-management platform to enable production using officially licensed intellectual property and to facilitate revenue sharing.
Availability and demonstration
The company indicates wider access is expected in early July, while claiming that the video shown during the presentation was generated by the system.
