Sberbank plans integrated crypto wallet launch by 01.12

Sberbank announced plans to introduce a built‑in crypto wallet for clients, targeting launch by 01.12 subject to regulatory timing.

Launch conditions and timing

At the Bank of Russia Financial Congress, first deputy chairman Kirill Tsaryov stated that the launch timeline is tied to the new digital currency law coming into force on 01.09.

He added that final dates will depend on the publication of the law's final text and the ability to distribute application updates through app stores.

Product integration and availability

The planned service will function as a cryptocurrency wallet and will be integrated primarily into the Sberbank Online and SberInvestments applications for client convenience.

According to the bank, initial access to new wallet features will be available earlier for users on Android devices, with broader rollout to follow.

Existing digital asset offerings

Sberbank continues to expand its digital asset ecosystem by offering structured bonds and digital financial assets that provide exposure to specific cryptocurrencies.

Clients can invest via bank products that track Bitcoin, Ethereum or diversified crypto baskets, and the wallet is expected to complement these services.

Market context

Sberbank is not alone in pursuing custody and trading infrastructure: T‑Bank has also announced plans to act as a digital depositary and to launch a crypto trading service.
