Generation Z becomes main driver of TradFi on Binance

A Binance study indicates Generation Z now accounts for nearly half of the platform's TradFi product users globally as of early 2026. Young investors demonstrate high financial literacy and conservative trading patterns compared with older cohorts on the exchange over the reporting period.

Study findings

The report finds about 30% of these young traders began investing while they were still studying, showing early market entry behaviour. 77% of Generation Z respondents reported having a financial education, according to Binance's survey data included in the study report.

Regional distribution and trading behavior

More than 90% of TradFi service users on Binance live in emerging markets, concentrating the platform's newer retail activity geographically. Generation Z proved the most conservative age group, allocating only 5.9% of their trading volume to leveraged ETFs, the lowest share reported.

Trading volume and client growth

Since the start of 2026, young users generated about $80 billion in trading volume on TradFi products, marking substantial activity from this cohort. Their share among new TradFi clients on Binance rose from 41% to 47% in 2026, indicating accelerating recruitment of younger accounts.

The study suggests that Binance's TradFi segment is increasingly shaped by young, financially educated users based in emerging economies, altering client composition and trading dynamics on the platform.
