Wall Street shifts to 23/5 as Binance trades 24/7
Binance already offers continuous trading for tokenized equities, including weekends, while traditional venues move to extended hours slowly.
Trading volumes during extended hours
According to Binance Research, in July 62% of bStocks volume on the platform occurred when the U.S. stock market was closed. In the same month total trading volume for bStocks reached $14.7 billion, while TradFi futures volume amounted to $439 billion.
Weekend price behavior and Monday openings
Binance Research reports that weekend bStocks prices anticipated on average 92% of the move with which the traditional market opened on Monday. This alignment indicates that weekend trading on the platform largely reflected information that later materialized on regular markets.
Infrastructure enabling round‑the‑clock markets
Platform operators argue that crypto infrastructure and stablecoins already permit trading and settlement without dependence on conventional banking hours. In this view, a shift by Wall Street to a 23/5 schedule would be an intermediate step toward more continuous access to markets.
The report frames the change as driven by available technology rather than regulatory reform, noting that continuous liquidity and settlement rails are essential for sustained 24/7 trading.
