Strategy resumes bitcoin purchases after share issuance
After ten weeks without disclosed buys, Michael Saylor’s Strategy acquired 4 603 BTC for $369,7 mln, averaging $80 318 per coin.
Saylor announced the return with a post saying
«We're back»while bitcoin trades near $78,7 thousand, leaving the latest purchase currently below market.
Funding move and share sale
Strategy did not use operating cash to buy the coins; instead the company issued shares and raised capital from its investors.
During the same week, the company sold 4,5 mln of its shares and generated $602,8 mln in proceeds, which were allocated across several items.
- $369,7 mln — purchase of bitcoin.
- $151,8 mln — repurchase of the company's own preferred shares.
- $50,7 mln — dividends on those preferred shares.
- $30 mln — added to the dollar liquidity buffer.
Reserves and total holdings
Strategy’s dollar liquidity has grown to a significant level, with a $5,1 bln «dollar reserve» and $1,61 bln of available cash on the balance sheet.
Overall, the company holds 845 050 BTC, purchased for a total of $63,73 bln, representing an average cost of $75 412 per coin.
The recent operations underscore the firm’s continued activity in bitcoin accumulation while also using equity markets to finance purchases and shareholder returns.
