Blur disables website; implications for NFTs and loans
Blur announced it will disable its website on 12 November, while maintaining core protocol functions and governance controls.
Platform shutdown and protocol status
The marketplace said the public website interface will be turned off on 12 November, but the underlying protocol will continue to operate without interruption. The team specified that BLUR will retain the ability to enable and disable platform fees through its governance mechanisms.
Effect on Blend lending service
Credit service Blend will stop issuing new loans beginning on 12 November. Existing borrowers were instructed to repay outstanding loans by that date to avoid forced liquidation of NFTs held as collateral.
Users who fail to settle debts by the stated deadline may face seizure of NFTs used as collateral under existing loan terms. The announcement did not change protocol-level liquidation rules or collateral mechanics.
Asset retrieval after shutdown
Following the website shutdown, Blur said it will provide a separate tool enabling users to withdraw assets previously held in Blend. The company described the tool as a dedicated mechanism for offboarding collateral and returned funds to users.
The notice focused on operational details and did not include timelines beyond the 12 November cutoff. Users were advised to monitor official Blur channels for updates and instructions regarding the withdrawal tool.
