Claude Integrates Etherscan Connector to Query Blockchain
Claude received an Etherscan connector allowing users to retrieve blockchain data directly in chat by asking questions in natural language.
Capabilities
The connector enables queries about account balances, recent transactions, contract authorship and contract verification status across supported networks.
- Check an address balance on specific chains, for example Base or other supported networks.
- Request the latest 20 transactions for a wallet on chains such as Arbitrum.
- Ask who deployed a contract and whether its source code is published and verified on the explorer.
- Query the current gas price on the Ethereum mainnet and receive an immediate numeric response.
Setup and availability
To enable the feature, users select Etherscan from Claude’s connector catalog; no Etherscan API key or account is required for a basic connection.
The integration supports more than 60 networks, allowing cross-chain lookups where those chains are indexed by the explorer backend.
Use cases and limitations
The connector is suitable for quick on-the-fly checks in conversational workflows, monitoring addresses, and inspecting contracts without switching tools.
Responses depend on the explorer’s indexed data and may not replace specialized tooling for extensive on-chain analysis or historical research.
