Suno adds advanced stem-splitting and three split modes
Suno updated its track stem-splitting tool and introduced three operational modes, including a newly released Advanced split option.
Overview of modes
The service now offers Autosplit, which replicates the previous behaviour, Split from mix, and the new Advanced split mode for regenerated stems.
How Advanced split operates
Rather than isolating frequencies, the Advanced split mode regenerates each stem using the latest model, currently V5.5, to produce cleaner audio output.
Early demonstrations indicate the regenerated stems preserve the structure of the original source while reducing artifacts and surrounding noise in many cases.
Voice and granular stems
Examples with vocals were not shown, and highly granular stems such as individual kick and snare channels remain in beta and require further refinement.
Credits, versions and limits
Each extracted stem consumes 10 credits, and the system by default generates 2 versions for side-by-side comparison of results.
Users can extract up to 12 tracks from a source. To isolate a specific instrument while avoiding extra credit use, the Split from mix mode is recommended.
Subscription tiers
The Pro subscription includes access to Autosplit and Split from mix, while Advanced split is available only with the Premiere subscription tier.
Overall, the update shifts the tool from frequency-based separation toward model-driven regeneration, changing trade-offs between fidelity and resource consumption.
