How Solaris works

Evaluation and results

Runway reports an internal study involving 250 participants and about 7,500 paired comparisons to evaluate Solaris against Claude Opus 5.

According to the company, Solaris was preferred in 61% of cases for instruction following and in 71% for naturalness of behavior.

Runway emphasizes that this assessment was an internal test and not an independent benchmark, limiting direct comparability of results.

Availability and limitations

Solaris is currently accessible only to early partners, and broader public availability has not been announced by the company.

Runway lists several technical limitations, among them text handling challenges, performance over long sessions, result fidelity concerns and interface accessibility issues.
